Biography of James Murray Maxson, 1857-1922

James Murray Maxson was a son of Silas and Margaret E. Whitfard Maxson. He was born at Rodman, N. Y., May 24, 1857, and was the youngest of six children, He came from a family which has been vitally and actively connected with the work of higher education. Mr. Maxson secured his education in the country schools and at Hungerford Collegiate Institute. After some years of teaching he entered the employment of the Handy Package Dye Company, at Adams Center, N. Biography of James M. Cleveland

The history of the town of Adams and of Jefferson County would not be complete, nor should it be written, without prominent mention of James M. Cleveland, an old and nearly life-long resident of Adams.
